Bed Care Tips for shopping for a new bed - Consider age group, health, lifestyle, useage, budget and most important how much floor space you have.
Main bedroom: - If at all possible shop with your sleeping partner, if this is not possible agree on your partner's needs before you shop. Lie on the bed first, narrow it down to your preference and remember first impressions are valuable.
Guest room: - Work out what size bed would suit, is it for one person or two? Short term use or longer? And who will generally sleep in it?
Children: - Preschoolers - they usually prefer softer beds.
- 5 - 12 years - bunks are popular and trundlers are excellent plus they save room space. Also try and stick with NZ made beds which are better quality and because of their safety and strength.
- Also bear in mind when they leave the nest, that bed might just go with them.
Transportation We can deliver your bed! And most times that same day! To get a quote please feel free to contact us. If you will be transporting your bed on your own we reccommend that you: - Measure the internal vehicle space.
- Remember you can't bend the mattress as this may damage it and it will void any warranty.
- Bring enough rope/straps and covers or a tarpaulin in case it rains. Also you may need an extra hand to help load and unload.
- Make sure you have good access. If you live in apartment or multi-level building make sure it will fit by measuring the elevator, stairs etc. You can purchase split bases and slat bases to tackle this problem if necessary.
Comfort - Allow time to get used to your new bed. On average it takes 1-4 weeks for you and your body to adjust.
Bed Care - Rotate your mattress frequently, every two weeks in the first three months and every month thereafter.
- Air your bedroom and bed regularly and keep your bedding clean.
- Don’t let anyone jump on your bed.
- Keep your bed away from direct sunlight.
- Vacuum your bed regularly on a low suction.
Sleeping Tips - Develop a relaxing bedtime routine.
- Take a warm bath or shower before bed.
- Check that your pillow supports your head and neck properly.
- Make your bedroom a haven that you want to escape to.
- Choose good quality, natural bed linen.
- Change bed linen as often as you can manage - crisp, fresh, smooth sheets are a great start to sleep.
